Is it good to learn Delphi?
Yes, as one of many languages (and programming environments) that a programmer already knows or is planning to learn. Sure. Especially that is the most easiest language to learn! I had lots of fun with Delphi.
How long does it take to learn Delphi?
If the person is starting from point zero and has no previous knowledge of programming, I would say it would take one or two years of steady practice and reading, before the person would be good enough to say attempt taking the Delphi Certification exam (Become a Delphi Certified Developer ).
Is Delphi difficult?
Language syntax isn’t terribly difficult to master, especially with the hand-holding most IDEs give you. Learning the Delphi library (RTL/VCL) will take much longer. Not that its very difficult (just the opposite). There’s just so much it has to offer.

Delphi is similar to VB6. It is an older product, but incredibly productive. Anytime you combine a database into a language you get great productivity. It is not fashionable by any stretch, but people who know it can crank out reliable systems in a fraction of the time so-called modern technologies can.

Definitely not. Delphi is available from Embarcadero, and they have been supporting and updating the language as one of their main products. They have recently released a community edition, which is free. There is also a free and open source implementation of Delphi called Lazarus, which is well maintained.
