Does Medicare cover an EEG?
Medicare categorizes EEGs of all types as diagnostic lab tests and pays for 100 percent of their cost. Both your physician and the lab or clinic that conducts the EEG must accept Medicare assignment.

Since both methods of EEG monitoring would not be utilized in the same 24-hour period, the two procedures are mutually exclusive of one another.
Is CPT code 95951 appropriate for a home EEG?
