What direction does an LS water pump turn?
LS1 to current LS engines have a water pump that rotates in an anti-clockwise direction with extra idler pulleys to allow the direction change. Our clockwise rotation pump means the pump pulley rotates in the same direction as the crankshaft.
Which way does coolant flow?
The direction of coolant flow depends upon the year, make, and model vehicle and the engine in it. The most common direction of flow is from top to bottom. Some vehicles such as some Corvettes have it flowing from bottom to top. Others have it flowing side to side and top to bottom or bottom to top.

Does coolant flow top to bottom?
The “standard” way is to pump through the radiator from top to bottom, and through the block from bottom to top, oriented in a circle. This was chosen because heat rises and cold sinks, so normal thermodynamics circulate the coolant in the “correct” direction, though the pump is required.
Does coolant enter top or bottom of radiator?

How do you tell if water pump is clockwise or counterclockwise?
Rotation is indicated on the head of the pump, you’ll see an arrow going counter-clockwise. This is the direction you want the pump spinning. If you turn the motor around and look at the backside and remove the cap, you’ll see a shaft located in the center.
Will LS2 water pump fit LS1?
LS1 and LS2 pumps are nearly identical.
