Nystatin kills the fungus and gets rid of the infection. It can also be used to stop you getting an infection. Nystatin is only available on prescription. It comes as a liquid (suspension) that you swirl around your mouth and then swallow.

Can I take amoxicillin and nystatin together?

Should I swallow nystatin or spit it out?
Nystatin lozenges (pastilles) should be held in the mouth and allowed to dissolve slowly and completely. This may take 15 to 30 minutes. Also, the saliva should be swallowed during this time. Do not chew or swallow the lozenges whole.
