The concept of Aquacel Ag® is to retain the hydrofiber’s physical properties with the additional benefits of silver, which is slowly released into the wound for up to 2 weeks, creating a moist antimicrobial environment. The dressing entraps microorganisms within its fibers.
How long can Aquacel AG stay on wound?
The dressing can be left in place for up to seven days subject to regular clinical assessment and local dressing protocol. All wounds/incisions should be monitored frequently. Remove AQUACEL® Ag SURGICAL Dressing when clinically indicated (i.e., leakage, excessive bleeding, suspicion of infection or at seven days).
What dressing to use for oozing wound?

Usually, wound dressings and plasters should be changed daily for hygienic reasons. If you use an advanced plaster that provides Moist wound healing conditions, it is recommended to leave it in place for up to two days or more in order to not interrupt the healing process.

The use of AQUACEL® Ag SURGICAL Dressing may be continued, but the progress of the wound/incision should be monitored carefully and all treatment should be under medical supervision. The dressing is not compatible with oil-based products such as petrolatum.
What are the contraindications for aquacel?
