What happened to Bolex?
Today Digital Bolex have announced that they are ceasing production and sales of their D16 camera. Perhaps the most distinctive digital cinema camera ever built, it was a labour of love for filmmakers Joe Rubinstein and Elle Schneider.
How does a Bolex camera work?
As with a still reflex camera, the Bolex RX has a viewfinder, which allows the filmmaker to view what he is filming. This specific viewfinder is made up of a double prism that deflects 20 percent of the light going through the lens into the viewfinder.
