Nintendo DS is a handheld gaming system from Nintendo. Featuring two screens and a Touch Screen, it helped to introduce a whole new group of people to gaming. Over the years, several different models of Nintendo DS were released.
How do you take a DS case off?
You can use a small flathead screwdriver or an exacto knife to remove the covers so you can get to the screws. Also, don’t forget the little black screw in the DS cartridge slot. After all of the screws are out, you can SLOWLY pull off the back cover.

Does the DSi Internet still work?
As of May 20th, 2014, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service was discontinued and it is now no longer possible to use online features of Nintendo DS/DSi and Wii software such as online play, matchmaking, competitions and leaderboards.
What screws does Nintendo DS use?
Step 4 Disassembling Nintendo DS Lite Bottom Case
- Remove the following 7 screws securing the lower case to the DS Lite:
- 3 silver tri-wing screws (5mm long)
- 1 black tri-wing screw (4mm)
- 2 gold Phillips screws (4mm)
- 1 silver Phillips screw (3mm)
- Do not remove the silver PH screw (3mm) in the battery compartment yet.
How do you open a DS?
Remove a two rubber tabs on the back side of Nintendo DS, and open the battery cover using the Quatro-wing screwdriver. Remove all those screws using the Quatro-wing screwdriver and Tri-wing screwdriver. Remove a battery and unscrew a two screws, which are beneath the battery.
