What is Peugeot FAP filter?
FAP is a particulate filter designed and patented by Citroën-Peugeot group which regeneration system is characterised by the using of an additive, cerium oxide. The combustion of the PM10 naturally takes place at around 600-650°C but exhaust gas only reaches 200°C maximum.
Can you clean a DPF with water?
Water in a DPF can set the soot/ash into concrete like substance, which will, in turn, ruin the DPF completely. Moreover, high-pressure water damages the cells inside the DPF. Ash removal through compressed air is not enough too. Per say, such a procedure for diesel cleaning service does more harm than good!
Where is the particle filter on a Peugeot 307?
Most DPFs are fitted close to the engine where the exhaust is hottest so that passive regeneration is more likely to work. But some cars use a different type of DPF which needs a fuel additive (Eolys™ fluid) to lower the ignition temperature of the soot particles so that regeneration can occur at a lower temperature.

First of all we physically remove the troublesome filter, we only remove the internal core and the outer DPF chamber is left in place along with all sensors, therefore the vehicle will still appear to have a DPF fitted and the vehicle will appear unmodified, which helps for resale value etc.
How do I remove the exhaust filter?
4. pull pipes out of plastic clips and you will see the plastic union you can pull the rubber pipe off. 5. unscrew the sensor off the side of the filter and unplug wire connector put this in safe place. 6. undo the front clamp and rear clamp off the exhaust and a a little wiggling and the filter comes off.
What to do with a dirty fuel filter?
The early PSA FAP’s (DPF) were meant to be exchanged at 50k for a cleaned filter & the dirty one sent to a central depot in France for cleaning. Or you as I say & have done, you can DIY by washing yourself.
Can a particulate filter be used in a domestic oven?
