Is the Hunter 33 a good cruiser?
The Hunter 33 shows no incongruities in its core concept. This is a contemporary-looking, modern-feeling coastal or near-offshore cruiser designed to take an entire family to sea in ease, style, and comfort. The good news is that it can do this at an amazingly attractive price.
What’s the newest Hunter sailboat?
Their newest is the 33.5. The sailplan shows this to be a handsome design with, by today’s standards, moderate freeboard, short ends and a clean wedge-shaped house. Initially, I was struck by the tall fractional rig. Note that there are swept-back spreaders, as Hunter stays with the Bergstrom-Ridder rig. Why use this rig?
How fast can a Yanmar 33 go?
The 33 tacked effortlessly and tracked well. All in all, this is a slippery yet well-behaved hull. Under power—the boat we tested had a 29-horsepower Yanmar diesel with saildrive—the vessel showed a good turn of speed, touching 6.5 knots at a cruising rpm and 7.5 when flat-out.
What types of keels are available on a hunter 335?
A simlar version sold as the MOORINGS 335. At this time, this and other Hunter’s were available with several different keels including std.fin keel, ‘bulb wing’. ‘elliptical wing’ and ‘Collins tandem keel’. Embed this page on your own website by copying and pasting this code.
What does the interior of a 33 5 look like?
The interior of the 33.5 features a dinette to starboard, a split headsink forward and a big double pushed back under the cockpit. The galley has also been pushed about as far aft as possible and I’ve had some trouble reading the drawing to get an idea of just where the cabin sole ends.
