How safe is New Forest?
It is as safe as any other part of the UK and certainly safer than London or any other built up area. Anti-social types tend to stay closer to civilisation. Walking alone there is always the risk of tripping and twisting an ankle but the New Forest is not mountainous or remote moorland so the risk is fairly small.

To help prevent dangerous forest fires, the New Forest is a no BBQ and fire zone – BBQs and campfires are not permitted in car parks or other areas of the forest managed by Forestry England and all BBQ facilities have been removed at our sites.

Forestry England has repeated warnings to the public about the high risk of wildfires and confirmed that fires of any type, including disposable BBQs are not permitted on the land they manage. They have also closed all of our BBQ facilities at popular visitor spots in the New Forest.
Can you use a camping stove in New Forest?
The New Forest has now been declared a complete no BBQ and fire zone. BBQs, camping stoves or anything with a naked flame are no longer permitted in car parks or any areas of the Forest managed by Forestry England, National Trust, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and Wellow Parish Council.
