Die Quellen für diese Frakturschrift sind jüngeren Datums: 1938 entwarf Hiero Rhode diese Schriftart, die Dieter Steffmann vor einigen Jahren digitalisierte. Der Versroman Theuerdank wurde 1517 erstmals in Nürnberg gedruckt und bedeutete den Beginn der Frakturschrift. Der Font gibt die damals verwendete Schrift originalgetreu wieder.
Wie unterscheidet sich die Frakturschrift von ihren Vorgängern?
Die Frakturschrift unterscheidet sich von ihren oben genannten Vorgängern durch ein schmaleres Schriftbild und den charakteristischen „Elefantenrüssel“ (mehr dazu auf Schriftgestaltung.com ). Dennoch weisen manche Schriften auch weiterhin noch breite Großbuchstaben auf.
