Why is my ovulation test not working?
Occasionally some women have an LH surge that is too low for the test to detect or they do not ovulate during a cycle. This is not unusual and may happen in approximately 8% of cycles1. If you have not detected your LH surge for 3 consecutive cycles we recommend you discuss this with your physician.

Why is my ovulation test blank?
If the display is blank after testing it may be that the holder has got very wet and it is no longer working. This appears when you insert a test stick for the first time. It will also appear if you are testing after you have seen Peak Fertility, or if you have not done a test for 3 or more days in a row.
Can’t tell if ovulation test is positive?
A: Unlike home pregnancy tests where a line in the result window indicates a positive, OPKs are only positive if the test result line in the same color or darker than the reference line.
Can you ovulate even if ovulation test is negative?
However, even in women without PCO or PCOS it is widely documented in the clinical literature that OPK’s can produce ‘false negative’ results meaning that you get no indication of ovulation even though you are about to ovulate (Arici et al. 1992; Irons et al. 1994 and Lloyd et al. 1989).
What does no LH surge mean?
If you have not ovulated during your testing days, you will not have detected the LH surge. It is probable that ovulation has not occurred. At times, women may experience an anovulatory cycle during which an egg is not released. Unfortunately, the best thing to do is to continue testing.

Which urine is best for ovulation test?
Many of the kits advise testing with the first morning urine sample. As the LH surge typically begins in the early morning hours, we advise our patients to test their second urine of the morning to reduce the chances of missing the LH surge.
