What uniform do rainbows wear?
What Rainbows wear. All girls should have a uniform top and bottom. These can be worn for unit meetings, days out and events where a formal uniform is needed. Girls can accessorise with additional items from our range – for example, a tabard or baseball cap – but these are not part of the uniform.

It’s not much different for a four-year-old to join Rainbows. We’re really excited to announce that this month more than 1,400 units will be starting to take in four-year-olds. For more than 30 years, Rainbow units in Ulster have been taking in four-year-olds.
What badges can be sewn on to rainbow uniform?
Interest badges, skills builders and awards – as girls earn these badges they should be sewn on to any item of uniform. Many girls like to add these onto their hoodies or their badge sash. Only woven badges that girls have earnt should be sewn onto Rainbow uniform.
Do Rainbows need to wear neckerchiefs with their uniform?
Rainbows don’t need to wear neckerchiefs with their uniform, it’s up to your daughter or her unit. We have a great range of colourful neckerchiefs in our shop.
Why do we have a flexible uniform range?
Rather than having one set uniform we have a flexible approach, so that every member has a choice in the clothing that they wear – whether they are a Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Ranger or an adult volunteer. Our uniform ranges are developed with input from our members and designed for active girls and women.
Does the uniform define a Girlguiding member?
