Is Glasgow University Library open to public?
Due to Scottish Government restrictions, the Library is currently closed to visitors.
Are Scottish libraries open?
From Monday April 26th 2021 Scottish public libraries were permitted to reopen to the general public. This follows the Scottish Government Coronavirus (COVID-19): Public Libraries Guidance which was devised to help public libraries reopen safely.
Which Glasgow libraries are closing?
The funding agreement will be used to reopen the five Glasgow libraries that are currently closed – Maryhill, Whiteinch, GoMA, Couper Institute, Barmulloch – and to increase opening hours at other libraries across the city.
Has the Mitchell Library reopened?
The venue will be opening with a few changes including a booking system and book quarantine. The much-loved Mitchell Library will reopen to the public today for the first time since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
Are Renfrewshire libraries open?

Is Strathclyde library open to the public?
The Library will be open: From 09:00 to 21:00 Monday–Friday. From 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

How do I join the Mitchell Library?
You can join at any one of our venues by completing a membership application form either online or in person. If you are using the online application form, you will be issued with a temporary membership number which will allow you to use our online services and reserve books.

Are East Renfrewshire libraries open?
East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has announced plans to reopen several libraries this month for book browsing, computer access and click and collect services. Customers will be welcomed back to Mearns, Eaglesham, Neilston and Thornliebank libraries from 7 June 2021.
What are the opening times for Mitchell Library?
The Mitchell Library has re-opened to the public. Our opening times are Tuesday – Saturday, 10am-4pm. No appointments are needed for anything other than Archives which will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Is there car parking at the Mitchell Library?
Please note that there is on-street metered car parking surrounding The Mitchell Library. As this is also a local residential area, please use these spaces considerately. Alternatively, there is an a NCP Car Park on India Street next to Charing Cross Train Station which is a 2 minute walk away.
Is there an accessible toilet in the Mitchell Library Cafe?
Our cafe will also be re-opened to the public from Tuesday 7th September. For further information on how to book and what procedures will be in place, please visit our Mitchell Library FAQs. This accessible toilet is approximately 26m (28yd 1ft) from the main entrance. This accessible toilet is located to the rear right as you enter.
Can I study at Glasgow Life?
On occasion, Glasgow Life will be on the premises to film and take photos. Limited study spaces are available due to Covid-19 and must be pre-booked. See FAQs for details.
