We know we said no swimming, but you can sometimes find quiet little rock pools along the track that are nice to cool off in on hot days. There’s a somewhat hidden waterfall in the area (pictured below), and we’ve outlined how to get there HERE.

The Bells Rapid area is situated in a valley which has been cut by the erosive action of the Swan River as it made its way through the edge of the Darling Scarp. Slopes on the northern side are steep, up to thirty degrees.

What is there to do at Bells Rapids?
There are two unique Bells Rapids trails – the 2.5km River Walk and the 3.2km Goat Walk. The site is noted for providing fantastic vantage points for the annual Avon Descent, a great event we’ll cover later. Hikers can enjoy scenic views of the rapids, the countryside, coastal plains, and maybe a kangaroo or two.
Is Bells Rapids the best place to visit in Swan Valley?
There are also plenty of kangaroos in the area, as well as an abundance of birds. Best of all Bells Rapids is a short drive from the best attractions in the Swan Valley. For me, this means that the Bells Rapid walk trails provide a perfect way to build up an appetite for an indulgent winery lunch later on.
