Do cats come back home if they run away?
Cats sometimes run away and go missing, and sometimes they return home. They can be gone for several days or disappear entirely. For a cat guardian, this is an emotional and upsetting experience.
How do you get a cat that ran away and comes back?
Call for help and explore the area around your house.
- Be organized. Assign a street or two to each member of the search party.
- Leave your front door open. The cat might want to come home after a while.
- Don’t run.
- If you live near a major road, make sure your cat hasn’t been hit by a car.
Do cats wander off and come back?
