How do you become a Usaw coach?
National Coaches must complete the following:
- Receive a passing score on the Advanced Sports Performance Coach Course Test.
- Pass a background check.

How long does a Usaw certification last?
365 days

Is Usaw accredited?
Requirements for Certification: In compliance with our USOC accreditation, both the free online Athlete Development Model training module and online course certification exam are required to receive your USAW Level 1 Coach certification.
How do I recertify on Usaw?
To renew your coaching certification, you need to login to your membership profile and click the “Renew Certification” link found in the left toolbar under Membership tab. Please note that National, International and Senior International coaches do not have to take a recertification exam or pay a renewal fee.
How do I start a Usaw club?
Starting a Club
- Log into your membership profile in BARS and on the left hand side, click “Add Club”

Level 1 Coach. The Level 1 coach certification process can be done with a live seminar, or exclusively online. Level 1 coaches have demonstrated the ability to coach beginning to intermediate weightlifters. Improve weightlifting-specific mobility in their athletes. Assess new lifters for proper program design.
