How long can you go without getting your next Depo shot?
You can get your follow-up shots as early as 10 weeks after your last shot, or as late as 15 weeks after your last shot.
What happens when the Depo shot wears off?
After you stop using the shot, your body will eventually go back to the way it was before you started using it. And any Depo side effects you may have had will fade. It can take up to 10 months after your last shot wears off for your period to come back and for you to be able to get pregnant.
Can you get pregnant after being on the Depo shot for 5 years?
It is possible for fertility to return once your last Depo shot has worn off. For most people, though, getting pregnant after Depo-Provera will take time. You should stop receiving your Depo injections about one year before you want to become pregnant.

After a year of use, about 50% of women will stop getting their periods. If this happens to you, your period should come back when you stop getting the shots. Long-term use of Depo-Provera may cause you to lose bone mineral density, which makes you more likely to get osteoporosis.

You can stop using Depo-Provera at any time by simply not getting the next shot. Because Depo-Provera may cause bone density loss, you should not use it for more than two years.
Can Depo be reversed?
There is no antidote that reverses the effects of Depo-Provera. You will have to wait before the effects of the drug eventually wear off as the levels of the drug slowly decline. Sometimes the unpleasant side effects last for several months after the last shot.
