What should I avoid after Fraxel?
Keep treated area clean; avoid smoking; excessive alcohol consumption, excessive exercise, perspiring, swimming, or exposing skin to heat and sun. All of your skin care products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week or so after a Fraxel treatment.
How often can you do Fraxel Dual?
If you’re trying to get rid of wrinkles or acne scarring, it’s three to five sessions. For both acne and wrinkles, it’s recommended to space out sessions four weeks apart. For photo damage, you space out sessions six to eight weeks apart.
Does Fraxel Dual hurt?
Our patients are given oral pain medicine and topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. Additionally, the Fraxel Dual is enhanced by a chiller device to help cool and reduce swelling during the procedure. You will feel an increased sensation of heat but it is not necessarily painful.
What happens if you get sun after Fraxel?
It’s best to avoid the sun 7-14 days leading up to your laser treatment and after. Exposure to the sun’s UV rays cause pigment changes to skin that may not be treatable. It is recommended to limit sun exposure two month before and after treatment. For best results, apply sunscreen daily with an SPF of 30 or higher.
