The ChiArts dance department requires that all students adhere to the dress code. No outerwear will be allowed in class: shirts, leg warmers, sweatpants, pajama pants or shorts, head scarves, hats and/or bandanas. Ballet: All hair must be pulled back, away from face in one secure bun.

If you wish to apply to ChiArts for your freshman year, you must apply either through go.cps.edu or through the CPS paper application available on the go.cps.edu website. Non-CPS students, you are required to test through CPS in order to apply for any CPS school, including ChiArts.

The Academy generally accepts about 50% of applicants. Students must be able to fulfill the audition requirements, but that does not mean that they will necessarily have formal training in or outside of school or with other local arts organizations.
