What is SA CME?
What is Self-Assessment CME (SA-CME)? Self-Assessment CMEs are educational activities that utilize instruction and self-administered examination to improve skills, knowledge, patient care and/or practice performance. SA-CME meets part of the Lifelong Learning requirement of the ABR’s MOC Program.
How long is the ABPN exam?
Candidates are expected to manage the pace and timing of the examination themselves. Allotted time for the entire examination, including NDA, instructions and survey, totals nine-and-one-half hours.

The Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination® (PRITE®) The College designed PRITE® as an educational resource for psychiatric residents and training programs. Each section of the exam focuses on a particular component of psychiatry, offering references to support and explain correct answers.

Graduates can take the ABPN Certification Examination as many times as allowed during the seven-year period. For example, individuals who completed an accredited residency program prior to January 1, 2012 had until January 1, 2019 to become board certified.
What is the difference between Sam and SA CME?
What is self-assessment CME (SA-CME) or SAM? The ABR defines any AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ that requires you to complete some sort of assessment as SA-CME. The term SAM is the same as SA-CME.
Does SA CME count as CME?
CME from SA activities counts toward total CME credits per year. The ABPN also allows a portion of the self-assessment requirement to be filled by non-CME activities.
How long does it take to get ABPN results?

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology will send the results to you by mail approximately 8 – 12 weeks after the final date of testing for an examination. You will receive a Score Alert email and a Pass or Fail will be posted in your Folio account once the score reports have been mailed.
How long does the Prite exam take?

How often do you take psychiatry boards?
About the Exam The ABPN psychiatry exam is a marathon day-long computerized multiple-choice exam offered once a year with two dates in September. You can apply as early as November but the deadline is February (current dates here) through the “folio” website.
