How much does the S Works Venge weight?
Specialized tells us that it’s the most aerodynamic Venge yet, but the frame weighs just 960g. Overall weight is only 7.56kg in a large 58cm with 64mm-deep aero carbon wheels. That’s impressive.
Why are S works bikes so expensive?
Every part of a S-Works bike is delicate and it must be efficiently aligned with the other parts. Its frames, wheels and other parts must be in tune in order for it to be a great bike! That is why it is so expensive; any mistake in servicing it may bring down its value and usefulness.
What happened to the Specialized Venge?
The Venge will still exist as a frameset, but with this new Tarmac SL7 (affectionately called the Varmac in the Cycling Weekly office), we wave goodbye to it as a built bike. The Tarmac SL6 will continue to be available at Sport and Comp level, for those who prefer the old bike’s ride quality.

If you look at a sticker on the frame it proudly says ‘hand-made in Taiwan’ as a badge of honour. And the frame is handmade, with the number of pieces of carbon used to construct a frame rising from 350 on the SL5 to 500 for the SL6.
Why is it called S-works?
Abby Design & Constructio. The s-works name is saved for the highest level of quality they put into a product. S-works is the premium like for the top bikes. Basically s-works means, this is the top of the line product they make in the category.
Which is better tarmac or Venge?
Handling – both very stiff bikes so nothing to chose from there. Venge felt marginally tighter round bends. Tarmac has quicker pick up. Comfort – Tarmac more relaxed geometry, seatpost more compliant which probably makes it feel better on long recreational rides but didn’t test that.
Is Venge faster than SL7?

Speed – practically the same Venge was slightly faster on the downhills and felt like it was holding better speed on the flats versus effort. Both very quick though so splitting hairs. Venge is 7. l kg which is very light compared to it’s predecessor the Vias but about 450g heavier than Tarmac with listed spec.
