Do 144 trucks fit a 8.25 deck?

Independent now make the “144” and Thunder make the “148” which both have 8.25″ axles. Venture, Royal, Krux, Venom among others use the inch scale, going from 5.0″ to 5.25″, 5.5″ or more. Venture doesn’t currently make a 5.5″ truck but does make a 5.8″ with a 8.75″ axle. We have adjusted these on the table guide below.

Can I use 8.25 trucks on a 8.5 deck?

You can also “pad out” an 8.25″ truck by putting washers behind your wheels to take up the extra space on the axle, moving the wheel further out towards the edge of the deck. You can’t, however, bring the wheels in on an 8.5″ truck… not without a lathe, anyway. Also, factor in what you might end up skating next.
