While the dancing of Baryshnikov and Gelsey Kirkland is superb, and probably for many lovers of ballet the most important part of this release, I love this ballet for the music and the spectacle as much as the dancing.
How good is the picture quality on the Baryshnikov DVD?
Baryshnikov has unbelievable strength, speed and charisma. I found the picture quality of the DVD to be very good–the rich, vivid colors and fabrics of the costumes in the party scene was not visible on my old VCR recordings.
