Did Witc change its name?
This week the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) officially changed their name to Northwood Technical College (Northwood Tech, for short), effective Monday, August 2. The name change and rebranding was a lengthy and public process, including the creation of and selection of a logo, as well as the new name.
What was Witc first named?
It started off in 1912 as the Industrial, Commercial, Continuing Evening School, and changed its name to the Wisconsin Indianhead Vocational, Technical and Adult Education District in 1972, where the colloquial term “Indianhead” was first used.
When was Witc founded?
Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College was one of the first technical schools in Wisconsin. Over 100 years ago, before the College came to fruition, there was a vision to train a dynamic workforce. WITC, as we know it today, has changed its name multiple times since its inception in 1912.
