Overall, the whole AXS system is really cool. There’s a lot to love, and not a lot to hate. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking some up. It shifts a little better than SRAM mechanical, declutters your bike, is durable, has good battery life, makes fun noises and will have people drooling over your bike.

Is SRAM AXS noisy?

XX1 is for the weight weenie, cross country racer, or light trail rider. It’s for someone who is looking to shave grams, which comes at the cost of not being quite as durable. SRAM X01 is made to take more of a beating. With more alloy parts, X01 is made for the heavy trail rider or enduro racer.

Is X01 worth it over GX?

Registered. Imo the XO1 is worth the cost over GX out of any other component in the drivetrain barring maybe the chain. One’s a single piece of machined steel billet the other is stamped/machined and pinned together. I’ve never had a pinned sram cassette work for me, ever.

How long does SRAM AXS last?

These batteries last about 60 riding hours on a full charge. A full battery charge takes about 1 hour and is done using the eTap USB charging cradle.

Is SRAM Force noisy?

The main contributing factor to the noise seems to be the clutch and extra tension from the rear derailleur on the chain. Even a little relief on the derailleur cage takes away most of the noise. The new sram groupsets just seem to be loud.

Does X01 cassette last longer than GX?

Cassettes: both the GX and X01 cassettes are beautiful things and last longer than Shimano equivalents from what I’ve seen and heard. They better, as they’re also more $$. X01 lasts friggin forever before wearing out, as long as you don’t spend tons of time in the big aluminum cog.
