What countries qualify for a combat patch?
Combat veterans are authorized to permanently wear the patch on their uniforms. This authorization adds Somalia to a list of other current combat zones — which includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Djibouti — where Soldiers are receiving combat zone tax exclusion and imminent danger pay.
Do you get a combat patch for Bosnia?
Members of the Bosnian military have been serving with our #4ID Soldiers for over 30 days at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, which means they can now wear the IVY patch and become true 4ID team members.

The insignia is commonly called the combat patch; it is worn on the right sleeve of the uniform just below the American flag to signify the unit served under the United States. It is awarded to Soldiers who are deployed in combat zones for 30 days or more.
Can Army Soldiers wear Marine combat patches?
Yes, they can. They are qualified to wear a USMC unit combat patch if they were deployed as a member of that unit (almost always as a prior-service Marine who switched to the Army later) or under the higher command of that Marine unit for 90+ days.
Can former Marines wear combat patch army?
Yes. There are only a couple reasons for it though. If they were a previous Marine, and transferred over to the Army, they keep the patches, ribbons, rank and respect from the Corps, medals, and in some insane cases, the uniforms. They are forever a Marine.

Authorized personnel may wear the subdued SSI FWTS on the right sleeve of the temperate, hot- weather, enhanced hot-weather, and desert BDU, and the BDU field jacket, as described above. The SSI FWTS is not authorized for wear on organizational uniforms, except as prescribed in this paragraph.
Can a soldier wear more than one SSI fwts?
Soldiers who are authorized to wear more than one SSI FWTS have the option of choosing which SSI FWTS they will wear. Soldiers may elect not to wear SSI FWTS. (See appendix F for further guidance on the wear of the SSI FWTS.)
Who is authorized to wear the 1st Marine Division SSI-fwts?
Soldiers who served with the 1st Marine Division from 19 March 2003 to 21 April 2003 during combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom are authorized to wear the 1st Marine Division shoulder sleeve insignia as their SSI-FWTS.
