What is the K-Pro ECU? K-Pro ECU Manager software allows the setting of cam angle, ignition advance, fuel, and a variety of other aspects. The purpose of the K-Pro ECU is to fine-tune the Honda ECU for best possible engine performance under various operating conditions and with various engine configurations.

The K-Pro ECU is a specially modified 2002 to 2004 Honda ECU with a USB interface to a notebook PC running Windows. It is currently available for the standard shift Acura RSX base model and Type-S, the US Civic Si and the Euro Civic Type R.

Do I need K Pro?
You dont “need” to have it but its highyl recommended so you can bypass the immobilizer on the stock ECU. There are a lot of other ways to bypass the system but if you have the money… get KPRO, you wont regret it.

You can either get it tuned by a dealer or tune it yourself. Because it is best to tune the ECU using a dyno and wide band lambda meter, it usually works out best to get a dealer or someone with tuning experience and the equipment to tune the ECU for you.

These are the only harnesses that are guaranteed to work with the 05/06 K-Pro. These adapter harnesses are sold only with an 05-06 RSX-K-Pro. If you are are having problems you may have a counterfeit adapter harness.

What’s the difference between K20A2 and 05 RSX?
In the example below the 05 RSX was equipped with a cold air intake. The only change was from stock ECU (yellow line) to K-Pro + tuning (blue line). This engine responds better to tuning than the K20A2, probably due to the better cams and the fact that the stock ECU runs so rich at the top end.
