Parent Taught Driver Education is an alternative to driver education in public schools or commercial driving schools. Parent Taught Driver Education is regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

What is a PTDE?
The Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) course allows a parent or legal guardian to become an instructor for their teen’s driver education. PTDE requires both online classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel driver training.
Do I need the PTDE?
Do I need to get the PTDE packet before starting the course? According to state regulations, students must order and receive the PTDE packet before starting any Parent Taught Drivers Ed coursework online. The DPS will not accept any coursework a student does before receiving the PTDE packet from the TDLR.
Can you finish aceable a day Texas?
TDLR limits you to working on the course for a maximum of 2 hours per day. We don’t stop you in the course, so you will need to pace yourself with a timer to make sure you don’t complete too much in one day. There are no timers in the course so you can move to the next page as soon as you’re done.
What age can you start aceable?
In California, you can apply for your learner’s permit at 15½ years old and be on your way to becoming a legitimate California driver.

What is a DL 92 packet?
What is DL-92 Form for? DL-92 should be filed with Texas Department of Public Safety in order to obtain the Parent Taught Driver Education Packet. The instructor can not have a conviction of criminally negligent homicide or driving while intoxicated, as well as a disability due to mental illness.
What happens if I started the course before getting the PTDE program guide?
The DPS will not accept any coursework a student does before receiving the PTDE program guide from the TDLR.
Can I take aceable twice?
We currently do not have an automated way for you to retake and repurchase the course – our Customer Experience Heroes are the only ones capable of setting up your account to do this again.
Can you cheat aceable?
After passing your exam, you may review your results, but you are now allowed to copy/paste, screenshot, or take notes during the review. This will be considered cheating. If you do not pass your exam, you may not view your results.
