There are two terms thrown around that are synonymous with contact-sensitive, but unclassified information — UCTI (Unclassified Controlled Technical Information) & CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information).

What is FCI and CUI?
Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) are types of data that are collected, created, transmitted or received as a requirement of fulfilling the obligations of the contract – to develop or deliver a product or service.
What are examples of CUI?
Examples of CUI would include any personally identifiable information such as legal material or health documents, technical drawings and blueprints, intellectual property, as well as many other types of data. The purpose of the rule is to make sure that all organizations are handling the information in a uniform way.
