Albustix is a new colorimetric method of testing for proteinuria, introduced by Ames Company. The underlying principle is that the presence of protein in a solution gives another color to certain indicators than they would have, at the same pH, if no proteins were present.

The samples will be tested one by one with a Clinistix test strip (use a new strip for each sample). Dip the test strip into the liquid and remove immediately.
