What is Cys in the military?
Child & Youth Services (CYS) recognizes the challenges of our Soldiers and their Families. By offering quality programs for children, youth and students, CYS supports the Army Family by reducing the conflict between mission readiness and parental responsibility.
Can retirees use Cys?
Children of retired Soldiers are not eligible for most Child, Youth and School (CYS) Services programs but are eligible for Youth Services (YS) and Sports and Fitness programs.

Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) provides off-post childcare options for Families who have Children 6 weeks – 12 years of age. MCCYN is for Children of Active Duty Single Military Parents, Dual Military Couples and Service Members whose Spouses are working or attending school.
How much is daycare in the army?
The Navy, Air Force, and Marines have the same coverage and have a provider rate cap of up to $1,100 per month and up to $1,300 in high-cost areas. The Army does things differently and covers up to $1,500 per month.

- Be at least 18 years old.
- Complete an FCC Application and submit to the local FCC office.
- Attend 38 hours of training in First Aid, CPR, and child abuse prevention.
