What is hepatocellular Metastatic?
Liver cancer is cancer that begins in the liver. If the cancer has metastasized, that means it has spread outside of the liver. The most common form of liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This cancer starts in liver cells called hepatocytes.
What causes hepatocellular disease?
Many things can cause it: hepatitis B or C infection, alcohol drinking, certain drugs, and too much iron stored in the liver. Heavy drinking. Having more than two alcoholic drinks a day for many years raises your risk of hepatocellular cancer. The more you drink, the higher your risk.
How long can you live with hepatocellular disease?
Without treatment, the median survival for stage 0 liver cancer is more than 3 years. With treatment, between 70 and 90 out of 100 people (between 70 – 90%) will survive for 5 years or more.
How long can you live with liver metastasis?
Liver metastases means that cancer in one part of the body has spread to a person’s liver. In these cases, the person has advanced, or stage 4, cancer. Prognosis for liver metastases tends to be poor, with a roughly 11% survival rate for 5 years.
Can liver Metastases be cured?
In nearly all cases, once a primary cancer has spread or metastasized to the liver there is no cure. However, current treatments can help to improve life expectancy and relieve symptoms.
Is hepatocellular disease reversible?
If you’re diagnosed when some scar tissue has already formed, your liver can repair and even regenerate itself. Because of this, damage from liver disease can often be reversed with a well-managed treatment plan.

Technical advancements in external beam RT that facilitate the safe delivery of RT to a wide spectrum of patients include conformal RT planning, breathing motion management, and image-guided RT.
Iron storage disease. This causes too much iron to be stored in the liver and other organs. People who have it may develop hepatocellular carcinoma. Aflatoxin. This harmful substance, which is made by certain types of mold on peanuts, corn, and other nuts and grains, can cause hepatocellular carcinoma.
