What is on the PARCC test?
The PARCC assessments cover two courses – English language arts/literacy and mathematics – for students between Grade 3 and Grade 11. This initiative is designed to ensure students have access to appropriate-level texts and are prepared to enter college and careers at the right level.

Is PARCC a standardized test?

What is the MCAP test?
MCAP assessments are designed for online administration and are given in 40-70 minute units. Students take multiple units per content area with a total testing time of 2.75-4.75 hours for a subject. The test is designed to allow students to use the same computer-based tools that are used during instruction.
What is the purpose of PARCC?
All PARCC reports will be shared in a manner similar to what we did for NECAP reports in that they will be shared via online access to electronic reports and via hard-copy student reports that are sent to schools and parents.
What ELA scores mean?
For both the ACT® and ACT Aspire® tests, the ELA score measures overall performance in English, reading, and writing and is calculated as the average score across the three subjects.
Does PARCC exist?
In 2010, 24 states (plus Washington DC) belonged to PARCC, but the number of states participating in the program has dropped significantly since then. As of 2019-2020 school year, there are three states, plus Washington DC, fully active in administering the PARCC tests: Washington DC.
Is IAR a PARCC?
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness replaced the PARCC exam in 2019. The IAR uses the same test content and format as the PARCC exam. As such, students that took the PARCC exam in the past will not notice any tests differences this year. This will also allow districts to track their year-to-year student performance.
