What is the Buck Sweep? Simply put, a sweep is a run that starts laterally and turns downfield somewhere outside the box, usually near the sideline. Specifically, the Buck Sweep is unique in that outside offensive players block inside defenders and offensive linemen block outside defenders.
How do you defend the double wing offense?
Give no vertical space- meaning defensive line must close gaps and squeeze down on the offensive linemen. Hold the line of scrimmage- do not over pursue up the field, give no ground to double team blocks. Cut double teams down if you cannot split them. Get off blocks & Tackle.

Much of the success enjoyed at Delaware is attributable to the Wing-T offense, which was invented by Dave Nelson at Maine in 1950 and perfected at Delaware in the early 1950s. The original offense evolved from the Michigan Single Wing of Fritz Crisler and the Army Trap Series of Earl “Red” Blaik.
What is the best way to use the wing T offense?
The wing t offense will use a lot of down, trap, and kick out blocks. Working angles will allow your offensive linemen to flatten some of these defensive linemen. Angle/down blocking is an excellent way to utilize a smaller offensive line.
What is wing T in football?

Having a wing-back will allow you to outflank the defense. The wing-back will be able to down block on any c-gap defender or a wide defensive tackle.
What makes a good wing-back?
The wing-back and tight-end flank as you can see in the 100 & 900 formation below create real conflict for the defense. Wing-backs should be your best all around players. They need to be able to block, catch, and run the football. Our full-back is usually a bigger stronger kid, that can block as well. The QB does not have to be a stud.
