Is the FRS discontinued?
The current Scion iA, iM, and FR-S models won’t be discontinued, though; instead, their 2017-model-year iterations will be rebranded as Toyotas and sold at regular Toyota dealerships. Current owners of Scion products will continue to be able to receive service at Toyota dealerships’ service departments.

Toyota discontinued the Scion brand for 2017, so you won’t be able to buy a new Scion FR-S. However, the FR-S coupe continues under a new name: the Toyota 86.

Neither model came first. Toyota, who owns a stake in Subaru, began the 86 project. Took a bit to convince Subaru to join the project, but once they did, both jointly developed the car, while production is done by Subaru.

If the name sounds familiar is because Scion has already launched a Release Series version of the FR-S. Only 1,500 units were built.
