Is a 3 on AP Physics good?
Earning a 3, 4, or 5 is generally accepted as scoring well on an AP® exam. As reported by the College Board, a 3 is ‘qualified,’ a 4 ‘well qualified,’ and a 5 ‘extremely well qualified. AP® Physics 1 is one of the most difficult AP® exams. Any passing score is an accomplishment.
Is a 4 in AP Physics good?
A score of 3 or higher is generally considered good, because that means you passed the exam! A 4 is considered very good, and a 5 is especially impressive since it is the highest score. Also keep in mind that every college sets its own policy about AP credit.

The free-response questions from past AP Physics B exam questions are still available. Please note that AP Physics B has been replaced by AP Physics 1 and 2.

Note: Starting with the 2021 exam, Units 8–10 will no longer be tested in AP Physics 1. Units 1–7 will be represented on the AP Physics 1 Exam in approximately similar proportion to their relative weights as shown below and in the course and exam description.
