After nearly 40 years of ownership and management by Bill and Irma Prettyman, Homestead Campground was recently sold to another 40-year-old Delaware organization.
Is camping allowed in Delaware?
Camping is by permit only and restricted to map-designated campsites. Camping permits and online registration are at de.gov/forestcamping, or contact forest offices. Reservations are required prior to arrival date. Campsites are of a primitive type and used ONLY for tent camping.
Where can you camp for free in the US?
Typically you are allowed to camp for free in US National Forests & Grasslands unless otherwise marked. Each national forest has slightly different rules, so check ahead of time, but generally speaking, you are allowed to camp anywhere outside established recreation areas and developed campgrounds.

Can you sleep on Delaware beaches?
Smoking, alcohol and overnight sleeping are banned on the beach. There is a vehicle admission charge ($10 for out of state) for the beach state parks: Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware Seashore State Park and Fenwick Island State Park.
