The Bull Ring or Bullring as it is now stylised, has been an important hub for the city of Birmingham since the Middles Ages. It is now home to some of the world’s biggest retail brands and is the largest city centre shopping destination in the United Kingdom.

By the early 19th century the area around St. Martins had become crowded with old buildings, narrow streets and traders stalls. It was decide to open up the area by knocking down the buildings on the east side of Spiceal Street and on the west side of the Bull Ring, This led to the emergence of the Bull Ring of memory.
