In March 2020, DCI announced the upcoming competitive season would be cancelled, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2021, DCI announced the return of drum corps, dubbed the “Celebration Tour”, serving as a bridge to DCI’s 50th anniversary in 2022.

One of them is to allow brass instruments such as French horn, trombone, and sousaphone.
